Women Make Film

I had the great honor of working on a women's
film project here in Anchorage last week.

Mary Katzke of Affinity Films is working on
a piece about a young woman named Gwen who,
as an infant, was thrown into a campground
fire by her mother who then disappeared from
her life.

I helped on a 3 day shoot following Gwen
(now in her 20s) as she met her half sister
for the first time.

My role was audio/anything else that was
needed, and I met some great women on
the shoot, including Gwen and also the
videographer Nara Garber, a kindred spirit.

There are so many good stories out there,
and it is wonderful to find women working
together to tell them.

Now on to my doc!
